Initial Customer Engagement

I was asked today what makes your company unique.  I stopped to think and honestly what makes us unique is that we turn clients into family.  We want our clients to feel as though we have their best interest at heart when discussing their learning and development needs.  I sometimes think, why would I sell you a huge 5 module elearning course, when maybe all you need are 5 short videos that your students can pull up on an as needed basis?  It makes no sense to me when I hear of clients who are upsold for the sake of the dollar while not getting to the root that is causing the problem nor thinking about how the students are going to learn.

Family is important to me. Anyone who knows me, has met me or met my family knows how important that is to me.  I grew up in New Jersey in a Spanish household with my cousins just a few streets away, and with my grandparents only 20 minutes away.  I remember no matter how big or small an event was, my family was ALWAYS there.  Most recently my family took up an entire row (and some of the row behind us) at my oldest’s first dance recital (and we were down a good portion of the family because of the holiday season)!  Everyone knew how important the occasion as for me, as someone who danced all her life, but they also wanted to extend their love to my oldest as she hit the stage for the very first time. I sometimes call my family My Big, Fat Spanish family because I recognized so much of myself and my family in the movie, “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” And sometimes we definitely will barrel in and take over whatever it is we are attending.  Usually with lots of laughs and likely someone looking to ensure we are all fed. What I take most about family is family shows up and family provides that mirror you may need to help you make a decision truly in your own best interest.  This is the principle that I bring into all of my engagements.

At the beginning of every engagement, I take pride in learning about your organization, your processes and your systems. I look at every knowledge transfer session as new hire onboarding. I dive in as if I am going to work there, ask questions as if I were a new hire even if it does not pertain directly to what the client has contracted us to do and make note of anything I personally found confusing.  I find it as a way to think like an employee at your organization but also as a way to look at additional areas of opportunity to work together to meet your learning and development goals.  Maybe you didn’t realize that this concept or process is confusing to someone brand new because you have used that process for so long that it makes perfect sense to you.  That’s where we can come in handy!

Working with an organization who cares about you and learns about your business ensures that your learning materials be it a leader’s guide for an instructor led workshop or an eLearning module about a new software you are launching to help streamline your processes. We can custom develop your learning materials to what suits your business, your learners, your timeline and your budget.

So thank you for joining me today as I talk about family and our engagement process and please reach out if you would like to learn more about the engagement process or to talk about becoming part of the Anchored family.
